Listen Gallery
love is serving the ears now
Sound arts gallery and communal listening space in Glasgow, Scotland.
Listen Gallery is an organisation rooted in intersectional feminism and centred on global majority perspectives. Operating within the imperial core, we are mindful of the histories and power structures affecting cultural work, which is why we work so hard to position ourselves as a trauma-informed resource focusing on support and care. We want to keep evolving as a place for people to experience the transformative power of listening, whether that is through workshops, sound-art exhibitions, and other audio-centered experiences.

"Listen" is an acronym for love is serving the ears now, reflecting our need for radical love and our desire to serve as an alternative to the dominant heteronormative, masculine, and white-centric spaces often consuming the field of sound art and experimental music. Listen Gallery is both a call to action and a forward-looking model in the crucial role alternative spaces play in shaping the future of sound art. We remain critical yet hopeful, acknowledging ongoing issues of gender and racial inequality in sound, while maintaining optimism about the positive change and growth our space represents for the future.
