U Belong Glasgow is a grassroots organisation est. 2020 by Esraa Hussain. It acts as a multilingual community platform that features underrepresented creatives including BPOC, LGBTQ+, and disabled creatives. They organise community events to bring people together and highlight their creativities (art, poetry, music, spoken word, film, dance and more), and champion the values of equality, wellbeing, community building, heritage, and empowerment.
Listen Gallery is proud to partner with many grassroots organisations by offering space and support for their work. One of our key partners is U Belong, and we feel incredibly lucky to host and support their events.
In times when organising is becoming increasingly challenging, it is more important than ever to strengthen solidarity between community groups and sustain grassroots activities. U Belong continues to do vital, inspiring work despite the hardships, and we are grateful for their commitment and energy.
